In this piece, I wanted to depict, in an abstract way, a number of large and small branches – all scattered across the lake’s shores after a heavy storm – together with stones of various sizes. One element I enjoyed including is the piles of small stones that so many people enjoy building during their days spent at the lake. In the end, the piece captures the tension between the chaos brought by nature and the order that humans try to impose. A fictitious order, because it is so fragile.
